30 DAYS!!!

A lot has been getting done for the wedding lately. We have gotten all the mirrors, vases, & candles we need for the centerpeices. Ive ordered the linens, I bought my brooch, necklace & shoes, my dress is done being altered (& looks SO amazing might I add!) Tony & I got our engagement pictures done that you can see in a previous entry, our Disneyland Honeymoon is COMPLETELY paid off thanks to Tony's amazingly generous father! & I made reservations for us to have Dinner at the Napa Rose while we are on our honeymoon. Apparently is was voted the number one restaraunt in Orange County! Pretty cool. & I made reservations for the Blue Bayou too. SO EXCITED!
My bridal shower is this saturday. I am thrilled! It will be so much fun to celebrate with my family & closest friend. I just cant believe its here! Becca (the photographer who took our engagement photos) will be there to take pictures so I will be sure to post some!
Ive been really trying to draw closer to the Lord lately. I always tell the Lord that I will seek him. But I have kind of realized when I use the term "seek" it seems like I am using it in such a way that I am thinking I need to go find God- like he's out there and ive got to search. So this morning as I was listening to some christian radio station they were talking about "walking" with the Lord. Side by side, letting Him "lead" the way but walking with Him. I like that so much better, and using the word "seek" almost makes me feel alone. Its crazy because just in general it made me feel a lot more secure today. I didnt have the greatest day today. I wont go into detail why but I kind of had a humbling experience & though normally with the situation i am in ide be freeaaaaking out- im just feeling really at peace because I know Im doing what the Lord wants me to do - and that is trusting & letting Him lead me. Its taking a lot of faith but its so much better than feeling like everythings falling apart. From my point of view it could look like a big mess but I know the Lord has big plans for my life & the only way I can live out that purpose God has for me is if I let Him open the doors & guide me.
But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

SO excited for our Disneyland Honeymoon!
Tony and I are getting SO excited for our Disneyland Honeymoon in just a little over a month! Its even MORE exciting now because we will be staying in the park all 8 days & 7 nights because Tony's Dad so graciously surprised us by booking our whole honeymoon at the Disneyland Hotel!!! We just cant believe it! and now that we will be spending even more time in the Disneyland Resort I decided to research some more on the hidden gems and exciting places in Disneyland. I know that now that we are staying at the Disneyland Hotel we will be able to get into the park before it opens! ...& Apparently if we wear a "just married" button (which you get at Disneyland) the staff & characters give you special attention & freebies! HOW COOL!? I dont know why everyone doesnt go to Disneyland for their honeymoon! haha. I will post some pictures of the Disneyland Hotel pretty soon! I found this article below and thought I would share it with everyone! I will post more as I come across them :DBy Susie Lee
Disneyland is a popular destination for honeymoons. If you think Disney isn't romantic, think again. Here are the top five things you must do on your honeymoon to the Disneyland Resort.
1. Eat at the Blue Bayou
This amazing restaurant is located right inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The themeing and ambiance are beautiful. While riding on the ride you will pass this restaurant which appears to be an evening dinner party taking place on the banks of the Bayou. The menu contains Cajun inspired cuisine. The lunch menu is slightly less expensive. The favorite menu item is the Monte Cristo. This decadent sandwich is only served at lunch time. Keep in mind that the ambiance is just as lovely in the afternoon as it is at dinner time. Other favorites include Isla Cruces Crab Cakes, Five-Pepper Roasted Prime Rib, and Royal Street Seafood Jambalaya. Vegetarian dishes are available. They charge a split plate fee if you choose to share your entrée. The Blue Bayou takes reservations. Call the Disney Reservation Line(714-781-3463) thirty days in advance to get good seating. Mention that it is your honeymoon and ask if they can seat you at the water's edge.
2. Take a nighttime ride on the Sun Wheel
This sixteen story ferris wheel in Disney's California Adventure has amazing views. Make sure you choose a stationary gondola. The ones that swing and slide don't go as high and are designed more for a thrilling ride rather than a sight seeing romantic one. You might try timing your ride so you can be on the ferris wheel during the firework show at the Disneyland park. The Sun Wheel often does not operate during firework shows located on the water at Paradise Pier in Disney's California Adventure since the lights on the ride are part of the show.
3. People watch in New Orleans Square
When you feel like taking a break from riding rides there are plenty of places to sit in New Orleans Square. Pick up a drink from the Mint Julep Bar and find a bench on the streets or in a hidden courtyard. There is usually a band playing either on one a balcony or in the streets. The music is very festive and sets the mood for the French Quarter perfectly. There are other street performers like mimes that are fun to watch while they interact with children and other guests. Although the streets are usually busy and about as crazy as a Mardi Gras festival; people watching in New Orleans Square is very relaxing.
4. Have a picture made for a keepsake
There are Disney Cast Member photographers located throughout both parks. They are happy to either take your picture with their cameras or with yours. If they use their camera you can buy your picture at the Main Street Photo Supply Co. The traditional spots are in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle or with Mickey in his movie barn. Having a photo taken can be a fun keepsake to remember your honeymoon. A twist on this is to find one of the artists that sketch your portrait in New Orleans Square. Tell them it is your honeymoon and have them date the drawing.
5. Dine at the Napa Rose
The award winning Napa Rose is located in the Grand Californian Hotel. The cuisine is inspired by California's Napa Valley. They have an impressive menu that varies by season. Their wine list and their service are amazing. This is the place for fine dining on the Disneyland Resort. Reservations are highly recommended. Call the Disney Reservation Line at (714-781-3463).
Remember that the Disneyland Resort offers both fun and romantic things to do on your honeymoon. Don't miss doing any of the things on this list.

more fantastic news!
the invitations are done!!! Well, they will officially be done once I drop them off at the post office tomorrow but yes...the hard part is over! Praise God! seriously. They were so much work...but totally worth it because they turned out SO good! I cant believe how good they look! im excited to see what everyone thinks :D So you can expect the wedding invitations this week depending on where you live, and the bridal shower invitations went out yesterday! YAY! I couldnt have done ANY of this with out my mom and my sister, Emmi. Seriously, they did so much of the work (most of it!), they are my lifesavers!
so the REALLY exciting news is that Tony's dad booked us to stay ALL 7 NIGHTS at the DISNEYLAND HOTEL! He called our travel agents to pay (God bless him!) for our honeymoon and surprised us by changing our booking froms 4 nights at the Double Tree & 3 nights at the Disneyland Hotel to All 7 nights at the Disneyland Hotel! It is seriously like the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me or Tony. We are SO excited! We wont even have to leave the park all 8 days we are there! How amazing :) we are just thrilled. Neither of us have ever stayed at a really nice hotel / resort before so this is all new! Thank you Jesus & Mr. Abbott once again! Gosh, its just a dream come true ...in Disneyland :) imagine that!

9 weeks to go!
We have gotten so much done in the past couple weeks for the wedding!
- Emmi and I went in yesterday & ordered & paid off bridal & bridesmaids boquets from Susie's Flower Shop (SO CUTE!)
- Tony & I finished registering
- My bought a huge gorgeous antique crystal punch bowl circa 1909! SO PEFECT!
- My parents and I paid off the Reception Hall & the Church IN FULL! all done! YAY!
- I ordered my veil
- Scheduled dance lessons for Tony, Emmi, Erik & I
- Bought all the candles we need for the reception
- Scheduled our engagement photo shoot for February 7th
- All the materials are here for the invites, half are done the other half were still puting together. They will be sent out by February 1st!
- Scheduled my dress alteration & my wax, and started tanning
- Bought all the bridesmaids brooches
- Started buying all the mirrors for the tables at reception
- Finalized all of the honeymoon and wedding night. Now we just have to go in and pay it- Which we found out Tony's dad wants to pay for the honeymoon! BIGGEST BLESSING EVER! especially since we already had the cash to pay it off! God is so good to us, and so is Tony's dad!
Now that its getting so close ( ONLY 9 WEEKS LEFT!) & the fact that the Lord TOTALLY blessed us with that money from the wreck- we actually getting so much done. Its feels so good to be able to plan my wedding now. It did before but now, things are actually happening!
Im so excited. Tonight Tony's family, his mom, step dad, brother and sister in law, & my family- mom, dad, my sisters- their husbands and my two nephews and my neices- are all getting together for pizza. Believe it or not, our families have never really met. Theyve been introduced in passing at like a store or something but never actually sit down and get to know eachother type of thing. Its awesome because my family is incredibly family oriented- we do everything in like groups of 20 haha. And I want Tony's family to be a part of that too. Family really is most important next to God- and if you dont realize that now, you will someday. Tonight should be REALLY fun :D im very excited about it! Then after Tony and I and whoever else feels like coming are going to go see "Defiance" i have been waiting literally like five months for this movie to come out- you cant go wrong with Daniel Craig & Liev Schreiber...no sir.

from disaster to blessing & an update
Wedding planning is ACTUALLY starting to happen. I literally cant believe it.God turned a disaster into a HUUUUGE blessing- thats the real the reason we are actually able to get some wedding planning done.
About a week before Christmas I was at costco. My mom was on the cell phone with my dad- after she got off the phone she came over to me and told me that my neighbors car had crashed into my car, running my car into the house. What ended up happening is they totalled my car. They would either give us 1600 and take the car away, or give us 1350 and let us keep the car. My car actually still ran, in fact my dad took the corsica to the mechanic and there was actually nothing wrong with it mechanically. So, we decided to keep the car. My dad kept 350 of the money and got me a new hood and repaired my tail light. Now my car looks even better than it did before! plus I got $1000 dollars to put towards the wedding!
But God wasnt done. When the car had crashed it ran into our house. We didnt see any damage at first but then we realized the wall the inside was starting to bow a little bit. A contractor came out and looked at the house- it looks as if it will need some repair but its not urgent. We can wait until this summer to do it, plus my brother in law knows how to do that kind of repair. But the insurance company still payed us for the damage- they gave us $2400!! This whole part just went through day before yesterday! So what is happening, my dad is puting $1000 away in savings and giving me $1400 along with the $1000 (from my car) for the wedding!
Please understand this isnt me bragging either. Wedding are freaking expensive, even for somone like me who can find the best deal out there. I have done everything as low cost as possible since im not rich and either are my parents, my wedding dress cost $299.00 for petes sake! Like ive said before even though its your wedding, it still unwise to spend outrageous amounts of money just because you want to feel like a princess- thats just stupid, especially since this is the start of a marriage!
So all in all my car getting totalled got my corsica looking even better with the new hood, a week driving around a new nissan centra rental, 1000 dollars for my dad to save up and 2400 for my wedding! We had been praying and praying because we just did not know how we were going to pay for ANY of it- basically we were pinching pennies trying to find the money for the church, reception, dj, photography- even things down to my shoes and my veil. Now we can actually get started of the planning and actually pay for stuff! Im going to go pick up half of my invitations right now :D
What a blessing. All the glory goes to God, thats for sure.
Among other things that are going on:
- We moved the wedding time from 5:30 to 6:30 instead. So the Ceremony will start at 6:30 now.
- I ordered my veil, its aaamazing. Im not going to describe it because I want the whole thing to be a surprise.
- My sister Jessi is teaching me how to cook every monday from now until the wedding, its about time i learn :)
- A friend of mine knew has a friend who can do our cake at a SUPER reasonable price, and she does fondant! YAY!
- Tony and I finished registering a few weeks ago, im not going to lie...im really happy to be done with it!
- Tony's best friend Ty is getting married this friday. Im good friends with his fiance- Kim. Were really excited for them, plus they invited Tony and I to a little get together/ game board party the night after the wedding with them which is at the presidental suite at the Rogue Regency. That will be so fun!
- We are actually getting the invitations done! Half of them are done being printed and the other half of the paper needed just got in today.
- The bridal shower is going to be Saturday February 21st at 7 pm. & the bachelorette party is going to be Saturday March 14th at 8pm (a week before the wedding)
- Our honeymoon will be paid off this month! woooo! Go Tony! best money saver EVER!
Ive still got so much to do but im feeling pretty good about all of it! Im not stressed, im really enjoying planning our wedding :) Im going to be looking for a brooch for my hair and my dress, and my shoes this week. Plus paying off the church and the reception hall this week too!

Honeymoon Success!
We have 6 Disneyland Parkhoppers (12 tickets between the both of us) so that is enough for 6 days at Disneyland and California Disney. We have a 7th day we left open because we dont know if we will want to spend all seven days at Disneyland. Through the Disneyland company you can take a shuttle from Disney (and back to disney) to San Diego Zoo, Universal Studios, Sea World or Knottsberry Farm- that is something we can add on right there while we are down there- or we can add a seventh day of Disneyland if we want- we didnt decide now on the 7th day because we want to see how we feel when we are down there. And by the way, the Disneyland Parkhoppers are good for any days, so we can do any kind of combination of Disneyland we want, say everyday at Disneyland except go to Sea World on wednesday- just meaning we dont have to go to Disneyland six days in a row. We may be done with Disneyland and want to do something else, or possibly we might still want another day at disney! who knows, but I feel it was a really good way of planning the whole thing. And believe me, there is PLENTY to do at Disneyland for 6, even 7 days! Especially since we are going over springbreak, they will have all the rides and special events going on. I went for 3 days when I was 16 and we didnt even get close to going on half the rides! Im just SOOO excited, its working out perfect.
GAH. im seriously so incredibly thrilled to go. Were paying for this with cash, well Tony is :) he has saved up so we will have the whole honeymoon payed off before we even get married! Were seriously a couple of kids, Disneyland is the BEST place in the world for both of us. Not just me! Tony loves it too, just as much! This will be the most kick ass honeymoon EVER! hahaha.

chicken nuggets & tubesocks

We decided on where we are staying our wedding night. Its called the "BYBEE'S HISTORIC INN" ...it is SO PERFECT. It is a plantation style bed and breakfast in Jacksonville. It is amazing, and the room we are staying in is to die for- big canopy bed, jacuzzi tub, totally decorated Victorian era. Apparently it is their most popular room :D I would imagine, the price is awesome, only 150 a night, where the Jacksonville Inn was at least 300. Its definetly "us" and we are SO happy to have found the place we will stay on our wedding night :]Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Exciting News

My brother in law, Nathan, got a job at the airport. That in itself is great news but what it also really exciting is his family, meaning me (!), will get airline tickets for 10% (plus tax) of the normal price! So a trip to Disneyland generally cost 300 a ticket...we will pay about $50 dollars! I have never been on an airplane so this is really freaking exciting for me. I know we will be traveling a lot more now! & plus Tony & I will be able to get a deal on our tickets to Disneyland for our honeymoon :) that saves us a lot!
More exciting news. I quit my job at the Red Lion. I have no idea what I was thinking getting back into the restaurant business. I really believe the Lord let me go back just so after this, I would NEVER return to the restaurant business. It was a really unwise choice on my part going into that field again, I hated it once already! why did I do it again? So I quit, and a HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Sure I have gotten a crap load of lectures about needing to be responsible & save up for our marriage...but HEY! relax. Ive got it under control. I have been offered a coaching job, a job at a physical therapy office and another coaching job may be in the works. Luckily my experience in coaching and competitive cheer has opened a lot of doors for me, especially in the rogue valley. So, this WAS the Lords plan believe it or not. I know its hard to think outside the lines of "work work work-no matter how much hell you have to go through" BUT i am young, and I have a lot of opportunity. I don't need a hostessing job to hold me back. And yes, I am saving up. Tony and I will be taken care of when we get married. Not only because we will have saved up at least 7,000 to put away by the time we get married but because we are and will be TRUSTING THE LORD. And I do trust the lord to get us through. God has gotten us as far as nearly five years together & we are both still virgins. To me (and a lot of other people who understand the struggle) that is a freaking big deal, and how did we do it? God gave us the strength. And if we uphold our part to being responsible and wise the Lord is going to give us the strength, discernment, and wisdom to get us through anything...even the financial hardships of getting married young.
Now on to my next subject. Birth Control. I went to see my gynecologist for the first time yesterday. It took me nearly five months to get in to see this guy. Generally, I would prefer a woman as my gyno, BUT this doctor is a very strong christian, and believe it or not he isn't afraid to talk about it- I love that. It is really important to me that I have somewhat of a relationship with him because he will also be the doctor that will deliver my children. This is why I picked him, over any of the women at the clinic. That and the fact that he is a christian of course. He delivered my niece and nephews- He really is the best in the valley & I trust this guy- alot. So that brings me to the point of birth control. I had alot of questions about birth control. I am very hesitant to using birth control pills- mainly because many of them are considered abortificients (meaning they destroy a fertilized egg). Tony and I both feel whether its a fertilized egg is a life. I dont want to have been pregnant many many times but then always have those pregnancies terminated by the pill i am taking, and their are many which do terminate pregnancy. I just know if I was to get pregnant and it was the very first week I would be ecstatic, thrilled, GLOWING- but for that to happen tons of times and not know it, and then that pregnancy is over-no that LIFE is over- that is heartbreaking to me & Tony. and believe me, Tony really does care about this. He is very passionate person- and he would feel the same way if we found out that my birth control was terminating already established pregnancies- even if its just the first moments after that egg is fertilized. You were still pregnant for that moment. SO. after long discussion and explanation from my doctor we decided that seasonique would be the best birth control for me. With this kind of birth control you never even ovulate so no chance of a pregnancy being terminated. & I will only have to have my period 4 times a year, every three month, which at first i was kind of really weirded out by. But he explained the process of how it works & that it is not bad for your body, really it is actually better because this pill prevents cancer, levels out your hormones and alot of other wonderful things! He gave me a prescription for seasonique with no date on it. I am obviously not going to start the birth control yet because i am not sexually active- there is no point, plus this stuff is spendy! He gave me "present" of three months supply which was 100 dollars value! So that was pretty cool! I do plan to start the birth control maybe about five or six months early because generally your body has to get used to it. Some people experience really bad symptoms for the first few months (nausea, fatigue, spotting, lethargy, cramps etc) while other people have no symptoms at all- i am hoping i am one of those people! haha. I just want to be well adjusted to this birth control before Tony and I get married- the last thing I want is to feel gross and crappy on my wedding, honeymoon and during our newlywed time together. So sorry if that last paragraph was "TMI" but hey, i figure the people who read this are my close friends and I would talk to all you about this anyways! And those who read it and aren't my close friend, sorry, you will just have to get used to me talking about birth control or other uncomfortable topics- these are important thing when it comes to preparing for marriage.
Did I mention that Tony & I are totally Pam & Jim?

decisions decisions decisions
Oregon is so beautiful in the Spring, i swear i never noticed all the pink trees in medford! I love them! Today was a wonderful day, it consisted of sleeping in, watching Pride & Prejudice (the mini series on dvd, much better than the movie) & yoga. It was beautiful sunny weather today and I certainly hope it keeps up! Its making me want to go fishing, hiking, swimming, camping... point blank, I am waay to eager for summer! waiting two months is going to drive me crazy! BUT at least I only have class twice a week C:
- The wedding will be an evening wedding, Ceremony starting at 5 or 5:30, & a freakishly long reception consisting of dancing for hours on end...there are three things i am looking forward to on my wedding.....and one of those is DEF the dancing...the other is marrying the man I love...and you could probably figure out what the last one is ;)
- We will be married at Jacksonville Presbyterian (the new church)
- The colors are going to be pink & sea foam blue (maybe gold too, wait till you see an example before you try to picture it)
- We WILL be going to Disneyland for our honeymoon!!!!!!
- Tony will move into our apartment 2-3 months before we get married & I of course, will live at home till the wedding.
- I am no longer considering being an ultra sound tech. My heart is set on being a counselor, I know it is my calling and I am going to do what I have to to get my masters in counseling or something close to that, it may take a decade to get my degree but i know it's what i was made to do.
- We will not serve alcohol at the wedding. Well one, I wont even be old enough to drink, Tony isn't much of a drinker, and alcohol is a HUGE added cost that we don't really care about...sorry alchies :/ but hey, we will be having the reception right next to the Jacksonville Inn & Bella Union so if people want a drink after they can go there and treat themselves!
- I officially love novels by Jane Austen (and I don't even like to read!)
- All serving dishes, silverware, plates, etc will be actual antiques...nothing plastic or plain. We already have tons of dishes and stuff that is antique because my mom collects antiques but we are going to search for more this summer at garage and estate sales..that is the best place to buy antiques, I would know!
- The reception will be at the US ballroom in Jacksonville
- Shabby Chic, Antique, sparrows (classic, not cartoon) vintage, romantic..all words that are going to describe our wedding "style"
- Tony & I have decided we want to wait 3-4 years before we have our first baby, although, I am going to have a hard time waiting! and who knows, God may have our first as a surprise, and of course, we couldn't stop that! It is all in God's hands. But, we do know we wont have a baby right away. We want to enjoy a few years just together before we start trying....WHICH I CANT WAIT FOR EITHER!
- We are not having the reception catered. Waste of money! My dad, mom and sisters are great cooks... both my sisters had their weddings buffet style appetizers which my family catered...waaay better food then any wedding ive ever been to! It will be food like breads, cheese, fruit, vegetables, spanokapeta (sp?), quiche...all sorts of yummy foods! We are researching what to add to the buffet..if you have an idea let me know!
- We will be moving to Klamath Falls the September after we marry...Though it's going to be hard to leave and be so far away from my family, it is thankfully only going to be a two-three years at the most. And this will be good for Tony and I to be on our own as newly weds to establish ourselves. Plus, once Tony is finished with his degree after two years he will have an electrical engineering job in medford right out of college, starting us off comfortable after only two years of marriage. What a blessing!
- Martha Stewart is my favorite ...ever. I am getting a lot of ideas for our wedding and our house from her show and website.
- And we will be registering at Macy's & Target! YAY
So those are just some lovely little things I thought I should update everyone on!
HERE ARE SOME WEDDING INSPIRATIONS:
This is the Gold and Pink I was referring too...
These are my colors! I hope to have something similar to this at the wedding reception...

Honeymoon
Excuse my spelling errors- i just got my nails done today & it is seriously impossible to type with acrylics!
So...Tony & I toured the church on tuesday and oh my gosh. It is seriously perfect. And it is actually resonably priced too! We meet with the pastor next month to "officially" claim the church for our weding date & pay our deposit. I am beyond thrilled, most people dont find their wedding venue so soon, i guess God just blessed us because this church is everything we have dreamed and more!
& I got in touch with the US ballroom renter, i guess you could say lol, & we have a date to tour it next friday, a week from today! Unless there is some kind of issue with them renting it out to us, we are set on it for our reception! Its right down the street from the church we are getting married in!!! YAY aaah its all working out so perfectly! [:D]
And more exciting news...we are pretty much posative we are going to go to Disneyland for our honeymoon!!!! Ya, we could go to hawaii or somewhere tropical..but to tell you the truth, i could care less about the beach...Its gorgeous but it gets boring after six days! lol. Of course i have never been to hawaii before...To tell you the truth, Tony and I are TOTALLY kids at heart! We have been to disneyland together before with a group of friends. We love everything about Disneyland...some people think its boring...well, not to us! We cant freaking wait! After i left disneyland last year i seriously missed it the second i left! And Im still missing it now! Everytime i think of disneyland I get really super excited! Like butterflies in my tummy excited! lol... Maybe this obsession with Disneyland is a little bit unhealthy? yea, probably! lol...but to me It is so magical and enchanting! I love every little part of it. I never went as a child, i have been twice with friends and the trips were so brief so i never have really fully enjoyed disneyland. There really is no other place like it. & I think we are most likly going to stay in the Disney Grand Hotel which is located in California Disney Adventure! It is amazing.
What is really exciting for us is one, i have never flown on an air plane before...YEP! I know, its crazy! & i really really want to ...flying for our honeymoon is going to be my first experience flying & that is freaking awesome! Another part of it is, we dont stay in resorts, niether of us have...we dont go on cruises or stay at beautiful hotels like this. We live a pretty frugal life style, camping each summer is what we look forward to.. & ya know what! I wouldnt have it ANY other way! because once we do get to do something like this, its out of this world for us! We truly appreciate it! So we are experience, i guess you could say "luxary" like this for the first time for both of us...and we will be experiencing it together! Ya i mean if you go to fly to disneyland and stay and eat at these amazing places like once or twice a year, then sure...then youll be like WHAT! why are they going there for their honeymoon?! but for us, this is all new, & disneyland is TOTALLY "us". Here are a few pictures of the Disney Grand Hotel, where we hope to stay!..

It is right smack in the middle of california disney theme park!

What an awesome view...id take that over maui ANY day!

Once again a magical view!

My Favorite place in the whole entire world! & i will get to experience it with my best friend/ new husband YAY :D
